Material:
The VIP Pad is made with a unique polymer called VEteq™. It is not a gel. This material is a unique, viscoelastic polymer that was designed over 50 years ago to prevent and treat pressure sores and ulcers in human medical settings. Rigorously tested worldwide in peer reviewed research, this polymer is the universal gold standard in impact protection. The material behaves like fat and skin and doesn't leak or bottom out under pressure, providing a layer of cushioning to the horse's back.
Sizing:
VIP's most popular size for English riders, with a spine length of 22”, the Original Large fits English saddles with seat sizes 17 – 18” and Western saddles with seat sizes 14” and under.
The VIP will overhang on English saddles smaller than 17 inches, but this won't affect the way the VIP works. The VIP Original Medium and VIP Pony are scaled down versions of the VIP Original Large designed to fit smaller saddles. The VIP XL/Wide is now available. The XL/Wide fits English saddles with seat sizes 18"+, Western saddles with seat sizes 15"+, and works well for a horse that has a wide barrel, such as a draft, draft cross, or large warmblood.
